Centennial History Committee Advances Local Book Project
The Hamiota Centennial History Committee met on September 25 and reported one third of anticipated book sales ordered to date. A $20 deposit per book covers about two thirds of publishing costs, with 600 brochures mailed and family histories6 being edited. Deadline extended to December 1982 to ensure editing and proofreading before a 1984 publication. A contest for the title or cover design was proposed, with prizes and a small committee to make award recommendations at a general meeting. The next meeting was set for October 13, 1982.
