Manitoba Pool Builds Newdale Quadra Elevators in Westman

Manitoba Pool Elevators reports bulk fertilizer storage at Newdale with 800 ton capacity and a 70,000 bushel 20-bin shed. Quadra gains a high throughput concrete steel elevator of 170,000 bushels with 70 ft height and 6,000 bph conveyors. Oakner adds 136,500 bushels and an October 26 opening for new ammonia facilities and rental equipment.

Fire Safety Upgrading for Hospital and Care Home

Manitoba approves two fire safety upgrades at Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital Stonewall and Fairview personal care home Brandon. Stonewall project costs 290000 includes emergency electrical system upgrades fire alarm system exits extinguisher and lab waiting area expansion. Fairview project costs 150000 to upgrade fire alarm doors improve bathroom facilities. Tendering planned this fall. Total provincial fire safety spend 2 million for 1979-80.

Projects Approved at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg

The Commission approved two construction projects at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. The approval covers planned enhancements to hospital infrastructure and related facilities. Both projects proceed under the city and health ministry oversight.

Day Care Programs Approved Across Manitoba Network

Fifteen personal care homes gain approval to join the Manitoba adult day care program with 204 spaces weekly. Tache Nursing Centre in Winnipeg adds 75 spaces, four years in operation. Officials foresee six to eight more programs in six months, about 100 extra spaces. The program ties to continuing care, offering nursing supervision personal care nutrition and socializing.
