Hamiota Ladies Curling Club Officers and Bonspiel Plans
The Hamiota Ladies Curling Club held its semi annual meeting at the school on November 20. Officers named include Dot McConnell as president and Marjory Dunn as vice president with Marjorie Stewart as secretary treasurer. Bonspiel committees and meals organizers were established and the next bonspiel set for January 16 to 18 with a $6 curling fee and $2 spare fee.

Obituary of Isobel Jane McConnell in Hamiota District
Isobel Jane McConnell 67 wife of A E McConnell died in Hamiota Hospital on November 14 1957 after a long illness. Born Isobel Roberts in Scotland she came to Canada in 1910 later living in Carberry and Lavinia district. Funeral in Lavinia United Church on November 18 conducted by Rev S A Walmsley and Rev J Maxwell with internment at Hamiota Cemetery. She leaves her husband a daughter Mrs Jack Boyd Brandon five sisters and four brothers. Her life of community work earned a 1954 WMS life membership.
