Longtime Ward 4 Trustee R H Heapy Honored in Oak River

Residents of Ward 4 in the Rolling River School Division gathered at the Oak River Memorial Rink to honor retiring trustee R H Heapy. Since 1972 Heapy led as board member and chair from 1979 to retirement, with his family also serving as trustees across generations.

Interim ACC board named to guide Assiniboine College

Education minister Rosemary Vodrey announced a six member interim advisory board to prepare Assiniboine Community College for incorporation. Members include Pat Roy, Glennis Scott, Dean Boyd, William Hargreaves, Lorraine McKay and Bob Reset. The board will transition governance from provincial control to a more independent system to align with labor market needs and workforce entry, serving until governors are appointed in April 1993.
