Mobile mammography vans aid Manitoba rural women
Two mobile mammography units, costing about 165000 each, have screened over 2000 rural Manitoba women since July, with 294 cancers detected to date. The program, funded at 493000 for operating costs, extends access for those unable to travel to fixed sites and is led by the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation.
