Incineration debate in Hamiota over waste treatment site
The Fact Finders contest incinerator plans, noting Manitoba's 9000 tonnes of organic waste, 6000 recyclable, 3000 needing destruction. They argue incinerators are costly, energy intensive, and ill suited for small waste volumes, despite high claims of 99.9999 percent efficiency. They contrast with a CBC remark about stack emissions and urge cautious comparison with larger facilities.
