Community runs Hamiota sports complex without tax funding
The Hamiota and District Sports Complex enters its 11th season serving minor hockey, the Huskies, old timers, skating, and curling. It operates without ongoing municipal funding, supported by fundraising, grants, and user fees. The kitchen and clubroom bar contribute significant yearly revenue, but rising maintenance and utility costs have caused occasional budget shortfalls.
