An enthusiastic meeting of the Ladies' Hospital Aid decided to provide $250 yearly to the hospital board to help defray running costs. The article urges local men to form a young men's hospital aid to match the contribution and support the hospital through winter fundraisers.

An enjoyable evening at Geo Gray’s Scotia honored pioneer Geo Stewart who plans to move to the coast. Wm Ferguson MPP presented a fine pipe on behalf of attendees, wishing him well. The program featured songs stories and Highland flings making it a notably jolly gathering.
The annual fowl supper and entertainment at Orrwold last Tuesday drew a crowded church, with the moonlit night aiding attendance. Pastor Liebh chaired the program as Rev Hanna of Lenore delivered a talk titled The Small Boy and his Big Sis. Proceeds and Sunday collections exceeded 140 dollars.
