Legion Remembrance Across Canada Honors Fallen Heroes
The Royal Canadian Legion leads national tributes to fallen veterans from World Wars and Korea with a two minute Wave of Silence. The Legion, founded in 1926, grew to aid disabled veterans and influence pension and benefits laws, now boasting over 1,600 branches nationwide and extensive community programs. In Hamiota Branch 174, members and the Ladies Auxiliary fund scholarships for two local college students with veteran descendants.
