Humboldt farmer overcomes handicap with improvised winch system
Andrew Benning, 21, paralyzed from the chest after a snowmobile crash, combines 2,400 acres aided by a custom electric winch built with local crafts. The device lifts the wheelchair to the combine deck, then folds away as he drives. Neighbors Wilfred Moellenbeek and sons crafted the system with onboard batteries for safety.
