Boissevain Smuggling Case Leads to Multiple Arrests
Boissevain RCMP and Canada Customs seized one hundred 200 gram tobacco bags on May 6. Three local women and one man from Boissevain were charged under the Customs and Excise Act with offences. A vehicle penalty was imposed. A planned coast to coast disabled rights protest June 15 by blocking traffic on the Trans Canada Highway drew little support in Moosomin. Edgar Anderson, wheelchair bound, criticized the protest plans.
