Invitation Issued for Brandon Arts Council Event

The Brandon Allied Arts Council announces its annual Time to Celebrate the Arts event on Saturday May 28. Westman area artists and craftspeople are invited to display or sell work. Activities include book sales flea market collectibles plant and bake tables plus demonstrations and hands on art activities. Government Urged to Deal With Difficulties in Farm Community

Winnipeg report details Jim Downey's telex to Minister Eugene Whelan urging a federal provincial ministers meeting on low farm incomes and farm financing reforms including removal of farm fuel taxes. Whelan replies that deputy ministers met May 10 and ministerial talks are planned July 18 to 22 1983 with ongoing review of farm income support. The opposition presses for action and for release of meeting outcomes to ease bankruptcies in Manitoba farms.

Farewell Given in Honor of Rev and Mrs Beck

Seven grandchildren of the late Mr and Mrs Wm Lamb pioneers gathered at Clarence and Mabel Lambs home in Newdale on Wednesday May 1 to share stories view photos and enjoy supper. Out of town guests included Gwen Hutchison Lane Sunnyvale California Lorna and Brenda Thompson Fairlight Saskatchewan Evelyn and Reg Morrow Holland Manitoba Edythe Robertson Minnedosa Mabel and Florence Bates Neepawa and Radley Bates Neepawa. Gwen departed Thursday morning for California.
