Hamiota Seniors Council winter wrap up and summer plans

The Hamiota Seniors Council reports a strong winter of activities at the Community Centre with new members and the loss of older members. Monthly Shuffleboard and Carpet Ball games, weekly card afternoons, and club playoffs characterized the season. District and regional playoffs were held in Crokinole, Carpet Bowl, and Shuffleboard with Carpet Ball finals won by Hamiota. A $1 registration fee funds half-rent and coffee via a shared lunch program. Lawn Bowlers prepare for summer while museum work gains volunteers and a fall reorganization is anticipated. Three longtime volunteers passed away.
