Main Street Project approved for Hamiota
Manitoba’s Main Street funding for Hamiota has been approved. The $79,173 plan shares two thirds from the province, with $40,292 toward public property work. Eligible businesses may receive up to $500 each for storefront renovations. The project includes landscaping two pocket parks, trees, planters, library grounds, a welcome sign, sidewalk upgrades, disabled access, and parking facility upgrades. About 80 percent of eligible businesses support the program.

25th season opens May 26 in Manitoba Senior League
HAMIOTA The 1985 Season of the Manitoba Senior League starts May 26 marking the league’s 25th year. Dauphin will host the All Star game on Saturday July 27 with an awards dinner social evening and a major baseball speaker. The 1961 Hamiota Red Sox are invited to play the Dauphin 1961 team. Ten teams will participate in a home and home schedule. Angusville withdraws. Moosomin becomes a permanent member after a one year trial. Souris opens at Hamiota on May.

Hamiota Youth Job Centre Opens With Registering 74
The Manitoba Youth Job Centre in Hamiota opened with a May 7 ribbon cutting and 74 students and unemployed youths registering during the week. Of these, 38 hailed from the Hamiota-Kenton area, ready for work in homes or businesses, including odd jobs and babysitting. Community support has been strong and local employers were met to discuss placements.

Autopac Time Payment Deadline Approaches
Motorists on the Autopac Time Payment Plan will receive their second payment notice. MPIC president C A Laufer says the first payment was due February 28 1985 and the balance must be paid by May 30 1985. Nonpayment risks suspension of vehicle registration and insurance cancellation.
