Oak River U C W Meeting Highlights May 7
The Oak River United Church Women met on May 7 at 7 30 p m with 13 members present. Georgina Black led a devotional featuring the poems Mother s Day and Are the Children In. A Fellow ship of the Least Coin program titled Volunteers Our Greatest Natural Resource was presented by Doreen Espey. Motions approved donations to the Conference Bursary Fund and Prairie Spirit Camp. The next meeting is scheduled for June 4 at 7 30 p m.

Seniors outings planned for June
Seniors plan two June trips. On Tuesday June 4 they visit the Austin Thresherman's Reunion with reduced walking and five van seats available. Admission is free. Friday June 7 they go to Clegg's in Arrow River for a museum bound picnic lunch. An Alzheimer's Memory Walk is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. June 12 from Birch Lodge to downtown.

Hamiota and Strathclair Credit Unions donated 2500 to Safeway Manitoba Games Westman Regional Finals. Norm Nicol and Ron Hedley presented the cheque to Eric Rawlings, host committee fundraising chair. Regional events run June 28 to 30 in Hamiota and Shoal Lake with multiple sponsors.
