Optometrist outlines changes to eye exam coverage

Under 18 and 65 plus retain biennial exams, 19 to 64 lose coverage unless medical or prescription-change exceptions apply. Plans aim to save over 3 million, though ambiguities remain. He stressed regular exams for children and highlighted glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts, with discussion of detection tests and potential treatments.
