Calgary engineer proposes warm antifreeze rink system
Ed gar H. Davis of Calgary describes a simple low cost method to curb frost bumps on artificial ice using circulating warm antifreeze through soil pipes beneath the rink. A thermostat, a vapour barrier, and heat sources keep moisture from freezing with minimal maintenance and only a small added cost. Interested builders may contact Haddin, Davis and Brown in Calgary for permission to use the idea.
