The 1986 census records 98 437 acres of Class 2 and 3 land in Hamiota RM with Class 1 unused. A proposed Phys Chem plant would cover 35 acres, about 0.00036 of Class 2 and 3 land, costing $23.5 million and assessing at $14.1 million under 60 percent rate. The plan includes 35 employees, ten in security and maintenance, and could generate $43 000 per acre in salaries plus taxes and tipping fees.
