The Hire A Student program run by the Hamiota Village Council and Labour Services opens May 2 with expanded area coverage including Oakburn Shoal Lake Hamiota Miniota Oak River Rivers and Kenton. The program aims to help employers hire youth and students through referrals workshops and wage subsidies under the Career Start plan.

Treble Teens Bring Let The Sun Shine In To Hamiota
The Treble Teens finish a 12 concert tour with an May 8 performance at 7 30 p m in the Hamiota Collegiate. The group, seen on National TV and the Lions Telethon, has toured Europe and the U S and has several recordings. They sponsor a fundraiser for the Public Library with tickets at the door.

All-Terrain Cycles Must be Registered in Manitoba
Manitoba officials remind residents that three wheeled all terrain cycles must be registered as snowmobiles for 30 dollars through September 30, 1985. Registration includes two decals a licence plate and a registration certificate. Plate placement rules and insurance note are clarified by Minister Samuel Askiw.

The Hamiota Women’s Auxiliary met April 22 with 15 districts represented. Cora Shire presided as Jean McKinnon reported admissions 48 new Bern 6 occupancy 92.78 percent. Four patients received transfusions and three local donors. 135 visits to 41 Home Care clients by 10 workers over 156 hours. 18 ambulance trips. Dr Kadambi to resume May 30. bookings via Pat Kirk. Donations $1,296. Treasurer Grace Anderson shows $1,238.04 on hand.

A C W Meet MINIOTA April Meeting Minutes
Eight members gathered at Lil Horner's home on April 21 for prayer and worship led by Norma Shurwell. Minutes from March were read as the treasurer reported finances. A 30 dollar quilt display was approved for Mardelle's Beauty Shop. A lunch at the community hall during Festival Week May 4 and 5 was set for 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Plans for May events and purchases for church renovations were decided. May worship will be Donna Gardham with Elsie Mossop as church cleaner. The May meeting will be chaired by Ivy Collier. Lil Horner adjourned the meeting and served lunch.
