Scouts and Cubs Plant Trees for Canada
Hamiota Scouts and Cubs join Trees for Canada a national drive begun in 1973. Since then over 4.3 million seedlings have been planted coast to coast by more than 480000 youth, reclaiming land and boosting wildlife habitats. May 12 is target planting day with Oak River District partners Miniota Hamiota Oak Lake Birtle and Virden, site north of Horrid government land. Each youth may plant up to 100 trees and seek sponsorship per tree.
