Flood Threat Forecast for Swan River Region

The River Forecast Centre warns that mild temperatures could trigger floods in streams draining the Duck and Porcupine mountains with heavy snow. Flooding depends on temperature rise and duration, plus rainfall. If highs stay under 15 C, flooding should be minimal. if they stay above 20 C for several days, farmland flooding and road washouts may occur, though less severe than 1988. No significant rain is forecast in five days, and updates will follow melt and runoff developments.
