FCL annual meeting praised as best ever in Saskatoon

Saskatoon hosted the Federated Co operatives Limited annual meeting with 336 delegates from 255 of 340 eligible co-ops across Western Canada. The event featured a net $66.3 million in savings, over $58 million allocated to co-ops, and elections in seven districts. Alice Brown will join the board, replacing Bruno Friesen who left after becoming president of Calgary Co-op. Dr. Eric Kierans urged regional focus and community strength, saying co operatives empower local economic futures. The tone emphasized a strong central organization and continued growth into the 1990s.
