Hamiota Huskies win Provincial A girls title in Hamiota
The Hamiota Huskies defeated Treherne 54-27 to win the Provincial A Girls Basketball Championship held at Hamiota Collegiate on March 19–21. Hamiota beat Souris 66-39 to reach the final, while Treherne beat Boissevain 49-42. Bronze went to Boissevain after a 66-27 win over Souris. consolation final saw Niverville edge Morris 50-43 in overtime. All-Star accolades went to Janice Holditch Boissevain and Lori Hiebert, with gold pins to team members and coach Lorna Robertson.

A Pentecostal Church hosted a musical evening on March 15 with Rev and Mrs Ron Pierce and family. About 100 attendees enjoyed pieces by Bill Gaither Andrae Crouch and Chris Eaton. The program concluded with refreshments as several volunteers and sponsors were thanked. Huskies celebrate tournament success with four seniors playing final games and Kathy Ferguson named MVP. Happy Gang Social Evening at Harrison House
The Happy Gang met on Tuesday March 17 at 7 30 p m in the Harrison House lounge to celebrate St Patrick’s day with a reading and a shuffleboard tournament. Fifteen members attended including Gertie Young back from hospitalization. Winners were Hazel Andreychuck and Mary Martin first Olive Waddell and Mary Esplin second with Pheebe Murchison and Vera Lavery third. Mary Esplin and Minnie Hogarth provided fruit bread pickles and cheese for lunch. Next meeting scheduled for April 1.
