Arrowdale Revisited by Allan Armitage Pillars of Miniota history
Miniota District News notes Allan Armitage completed a 114 page manuscript titled Arrowdale Revisited tracing origins from 1900 when Herbert Dewint Armitage moved from Ontario to Virden, through land purchase in 1905, his marriage in 1905, and memories of the 1930s and war years. The book honors family and friends, mentions Al’s marriage in 1938, and praises nostalgia of the area. Copies are available from Al at 576 3528. The column also reports the sudden death of Spence Littsjohn on March 12 at Hamiota District Hospital with condolences to his wife Barbara and daughter Catherine Peel.
