Evening Auxiliary Meets at Mrs S Taylor

The Evening Auxiliary gathered at Mrs Stan Taylor on March 15 with about 30 members present. The committee completed the Study Book chapters and members answered questions on helping India. Edith Johnson thanked the hostess and committee for the program and lunch.

Ladies Curling Club Dance at McConnell's Hall

The Ladies Curling Club hosts a dance at McConnell's Hall on Friday April 15 with music by the Manson Orchestra. Admission is 75 cents for adults.

Hamiota Garden Club Plans Candy Sale For Winnipeg Trip

The Hamiota Garden Club met March 21 in the Community Room. Mr Bailey screened How We Grow showing vegetables aid for growth of boys and girls. Fifteen members attended and decided to sell candy at the hockey game to fund two or three members’ trip to Winnipeg. Gail’s committee Marilyn David and Eleanor served lunch. Next meeting April 18 will discuss Public Speaking.

Students Corner reports art, sports and dances at high school

The article notes lower grade exams underway in Grade V and VI, with Grade VII and VIII reaching the final basketball games. The High School Dance occurred despite weather. Audrey Schweitzer won a chocolate prize. Curling ended with an eight team playoff. Muskrat Ramblers and Spark Plugs won their semi finals. finals are best of three in the boys league. Provincial Bantama AB event at Pilot Mound drew local entries.
