Kidney transplant miracle fuels Manitoba fundraiser drive
Milburn McKenzie, a 63 year old Miniota man, one of the oldest surviving kidney transplant patients in Manitoba, shares his long recovery and palette for life as volunteers campaign for the Kidney Foundation. Merle MacAulay calls his story miraculous and cites Manitoba’s high transplant rates and past fundraising totals. The drive runs March 14 to 26 with a provincial goal of 310000 and a 1987 target of 22000, aiming to boost donations and research.
