Hamiota councils discuss hazardous waste referendum plan
A special joint meeting of the RM of Hamiota and Village of Hamiota with PCHA and CAC input outlined referendum details. Goals include timing within Local Authority Elections Act, single poll at the Community Hall, residents voting, one ballot box, and a simple majority of actual voters. The wording asks if Manitoba Hazardous Waste Management Corporation should continue studies on siting the facility. a second vote may follow if the measure passes.
