Community members urged to attend a March 27, 1989 meeting to reorganize the Hamiota Huskies for the 1989 90 Southwest Hockey League season. Contact Tim or Ray to offer help and support the return of the Intermediate Hockey team.
OAK RIVER 4 H Club hosted a successful Bingo evening in the rink on March 9. Winners included Brad Shaw Frances McKague David Greenaway Norman Argue Tracy Baily Dallas Davidson Robbin Ramsey Darlene Sahlin Merle Argue Coralie Neal and Andrew Wrightson. An evening enjoyed by all.
The Rolling River School Division Board set its 1989 budget at 10,195,577 dollars up 3.7 percent from 1988. Increases come from salaries Canada Pension Plan and utility costs. Capital projects total 93,100 dollars including Minnedosa Rivers and Erickson facilities. An additional 15,000 is earmarked for division office renovations. The special levy remains at 2,631,424 dollars with no mill rate change from 1988.
Mae Roberts urges continued gifts to the Manitoba Heart Foundation Campaign in Hamiota. She notes some households did not receive mailing envelopes and invites donations by mail or drop off at her home, thanking contributors as responses continue.

A Fredricton reviewer praised The Second City National Touring Company performing at Virden Auditorium Theatre on Friday April 14 at 8 00 pm. The six to seven member troupe delivers topical sketches with improvisation and music. Past members include Aykroyd Belushi Candy Murray Rivers and Long. Tickets range eight to ten dollars, sponsored by the Virden Community Arts Council and Manitoba Cultural Heritage and Recreation.
