OAK RIVER reports a BH Society of the Presbyterian banquet held last Thursday night drew strong attendance despite illness in the community. Guests praised the event with a fine supper, Floral decorations, and choirs. Speakers urged youth service and religious work, while several notices mention visits, curling, grain meetings, and fishing for local leaders.
The six week short course concluded last Wednesday with lectures demonstrations and a written exam in which several young farmers participated. Mr Crawford praised the Agricultural Society and farmers for their effort and encouraged continuing progress in scientific farming. Mr Penny thanked attendees and noted the meetings’ success while KE L Stone praised the town’s support and the district’s prosperous farming spirit. Stone presented Crawford a fountain pen in appreciation and Pollock thanked the society and lecturers on behalf of the young men.
