Christ Church announces a Lent program with no morning service on March 9 1924. Sunday evening sermons will focus on striving repentance and related subjects each week. All are welcome to attend at Christ Church.
Mid week Lent services begin March 13 at 8 pm in Christ Church Hamiota with lectures on the Bible. March 20 discusses The Bible Its Origin and Inspiration. March 27 covers The Bible Its General Character. April 3 presents The Bible Its Inner Significance.
Rev R A Sweers leads divine worship with the sermon titled What Shall It Profit or The Tragedy of Soul. Sunday School and Blue Class at 7 pm. the sermon will recount George Eliot’s Romola and its moral lessons. CHUMAH classes at 2 pm. Bible Class at 8 pm. Our Slogan See you at Church on Sunday.
Pastor Rev Geo Lockhart leads services with the theme The Throne and the Rainbow. Music by the choir, Sunday School and Bible Class, and junior orchestra. Next Sunday the subject What Meaneth This explores the second coming and future life questions. All are invited.

The Hamiota village council met March 34 1924 with mayor presiding. It accepted J O Frazer's 7600 offer for the Roberts house and W G Spearman's 8000 offer to purchase the mill with staged payments and a lane reservation. By law 70 and 71 were passed authorizing debt and mill sale to Spearman.
Hamiota and Shoal Lake met at Shoal Lake with Crandall edging Hamiota 5 4 in overtime after a 4 4 regulation tie. Jordan and Ollie Jordan scored for Hamiota, while Umpire Smith was reported to be OK and the crowd saw a strong opening by Hamiota before Crandall surged late.
