Women and the ministry in religion across time

Bill Hall reflects on gender roles in religious leadership from a 1937 perspective to modern times. He notes that some churches still bar women from preaching while mainstream congregations now employ women as ministers. He argues against stereotypes and praises women’s capability in religious roles. Hall cites the Southern Baptist Convention stance and recalls personal observations from a wedding at a Methodist church. He contends the ministry remains slow to welcome women, despite broader societal changes. He closes with a personal address and a nod to ongoing debates about gender and faith.
