Manitoba health workers vote for strike despite law ban

Rural phone rates rise again hitting rural customers hardest
The CRTC approved immediate rate increases across Manitoba with Winnipeg homeowners paying 47 cents more monthly and rural residents facing about 1.62 dollars extra per month. MTS says rural rates rose to near urban levels as party line service ends. A further 3 dollar increase is sought to offset tax exemptions, with a final ruling expected by late summer.
