The Winnipeg General Hospital announces a fundraising push to build a new Children’s Hospital with modern equipment including polio treatment gear. Supporters are urged to send donations to the Joint Hospital Building Fund at 204 McIntyre Building, Winnipeg, Man.
In memory of James Dempsey drowned June 27 1952. Mother and family recall the loss and endless pain. Also a nephew James remembered by Uncle Bob and Eliza. Albert Pollock missing after air operations over La Rochelle June 24 1944. Rose Pollock recalls him with enduring remembrance.
A special missionary rally is set for Thursday evening at 8 p.m. at Haniota Gospel Chapel featuring Rev. Boucher of the Assemblies of God. He shares twelve years in interior China and the Tibetan border, two months in India, three years in Japan, and two and a half years internment in a Japanese concentration camp during the last war. His Canada-wide messages have been well received across denominations.
The Rev. Tom Thurlow was instituted as Rector of Christ Church Hamiota and associated parishes on June 18 at 8 p.m. Archdeacon Bridgett led the service with Evensong. The event featured guest speaker Rev. B S Whitfield, a Shoal Lake choir/organist team, and a lunch served by the women’s groups.
