Hamiota Scouts reflect productive year and plans
The 1st Hamiota Scouts report a busy year with 35 Beavers Cubs and Scouts in camping and planning. Beavers toured RCMP Hospital Scott Preston's Farm and more then joined the Brandon Beaveree. Cubs earned badges and won Kub Kar Rally while Scouts planted trees for Trees for Canada.

Locals place well in Manitoba Marathon Relay
The Hamiota District team competed in the Manitoba Marathon Challenge Relay at the University of Manitoba on June 17. Rohan Lall Jeff Robertson Mac Coupe Dennis Robinson and Dr John Guilfoyle finished the 26 mile 385 yard course in 2 hours 50 minutes 9 seconds, averaging 6 minutes 30 seconds per mile and placing 4th.

Standardized reforms called for in Pensions
Manitoba Labour Minister Mary Beth Dolin urged a national drive to standardize pensions.
