Jets Arena Debate Drags On In Winnipeg
The Jets seek a new downtown arena with 100 luxury boxes to stay in the city while Winnipeg Enterprises pushes a mixed use complex near The Forks funded by government money. Estimates range 80 to 175 million, with no clear financing. City, provincial, and federal involvement seems unlikely, risking Jets departure if no deal emerges. Key players include Barry Shenkarow, Martin Eva, Jerry Kruk, and Enterprises councillors and staff.
