Additional Crown land for wildlife management
Lake Francis Wildlife Management Area on Lake Manitoba is designated a protected nesting ground for the piping plover. Natural Resources Minister Harry Enns notes 6,416 hectares of Crown land support nesting grounds marsh and native grasslands. The province now totals 7,541,028 acres in 71 areas and the site offers a daytime beach for recreation.
