Tea honours volunteer readers at Kenton School
A June 11 1986 tea hosted by Ms Currie and Kenton School first and second graders honored volunteers Karen Wright Sherrilyn Stewart and Tracy Jean Nicholls Adam Darlene Hunter Justin Doreen Black Pauline Campbell. Children prepared and served lunch and crafted place mats and corsages while Tessa Nicholls extended the invitation.

Provincial Municipal Tax Sharing Payments Outlined
Manitoba ministers Bucklaschuk Doer and Kostyra announced 35,507,428 in Provincial Municipal Tax Sharing payments to be distributed in July. Cities receive 23,224,015, towns 3,252,961, villages 923,933, districts 937,298, rural municipalities 5,991,678, plus 1,177,541 to the Northern Affairs Minister for bands and unorganized areas. The share equals 2.2 points of personal income tax and 1 percent of corporate income. per capita increases reflect 1986 adjustments with urban service supplements rising to 4.50 for small centres and 6.50 for larger centres.
