Graduation date set for junior high with end of term note
The Junior High School invites all to graduation exercises at 8 pm on June 20 1955 in the school auditorium followed by lunch and entertainment for grades seven and eight. The Portage track meet was canceled and Winnipeg hosted a replacement event. Roy Pollock Murray Zak Lorna Caldwell and Glenn Asselstine were to compete and results will follow. Womans Institute Holds January Meeting
The June meeting of the Womens Institute was held on Tuesday January 7th with Mrs D Rutherford presiding. Mrs Nicholls reported on the Er ickson convention and Mrs Cummings on the Hospital Aid. Current events were given by Mrs Strickland and thanks were extended to all who helped with the graduation dinner.

Mrs Helen Jane Pollock died June 8 1955 at Hamiota Hospital age noted funeral June 10 in Hamiota United Church officiated by Rev J Maxwell. Interment in Hamiota Cemetery with six nephews as pallbearers and list of survivors including daughter Mrs W W Fraser two sons Harold and Doug and siblings.
