Initiatives to Increase Doctors in Rural Manitoba
In Manitoba the University of Manitoba and SCOMM have pursued rural physician growth since 1979. Programs include tax free grants, rural summer work, bursaries with rural repayment, rural clerkships, Dauphin family medicine, and a potential full year rural training unit. The aim is to train and retain physicians in countryside areas through enhanced funding, rural residencies, and education.

Turning on the cottage water heater
At the cottage, begin by refilling the electric water heater tank before powering it. Open the hot water faucet to vent air, then close once water flows. Check the thermostat to keep temperature at or below 60 C. Clean scale buildup from elements to prevent failure and extend life.
