Three Savings Plans Guide for Canadians by Investors Group
Mr. Mardon of Investors Group outlines three savings plans. Plan 1 builds a cash reserve in a bank to cover emergencies, aiming for about a quarter of annual net income. Plan 2 targets medium term goals with higher yielding investments, including bonds or equities, and suggests avoiding easy access. Plan 3 emphasizes retirement funding through RRSPs, noting pension plans often insufficient.
