Rhubarb gooseberries and puckered faces
Bill Hall of the Idaho Tribune riffs on rhubarb as mock fruit and contrasts it with gooseberries and zucchini. He recalls Midwest cold climates, family gardens in North Dakota, and childhood contests, noting rhubarb and gooseberries endure where sugar can’t ripen and zucchini lacks cold hardiness. He ends with a writer’s note and contact address.
