Students map future for Hamiota in roundtable visioning
In May, 19 Hamiota high school students from grades 9 to 12 engaged in a one day SWOT exercise. Sponsored by the Hamiota Chamber of Commerce and Wheat Belt Community Futures Committee, the session had no teachers present except facilitator Allen Gordon.

Hamiota Fair marks 101st anniversary with full day events
The Hamiota Agricultural Fair opens its 101st edition on Thursday July 22 1993 with a pancake breakfast parade and a full day of exhibits contests and activities. Highlights include the school band a pet show horse and cattle classes a sandhill exotics petting zoo and a kids carnival. Clayton Cox will open the fair at 2 00 p.m with local dignitaries in attendance.

Hamiota RCMP crack down on local break in spree
The Hamiota RCMP say they detained three suspects connected to a July 4 break in spree. A 20 year old Hamiota man and two Neepawa residents, 18 and 19, were released on their own recognizance and set for Neepawa court on August 4. Items stolen included cash, gas, hats and ice cream. Public assistance aided the investigation.
