Former Crandall pupils reunite at community centre
A June 30 Crandall reunion gathered former Mrs. Margaret Kirton Elliott pupils from Crandall Consolidated School during 1936 to 1941. Gerald Shier hosted the event, a plaque was presented, and a musical program by Elliott family and guests closed with 105 people signing the guest book.

A miscellaneous shower for Linda Strachan was held June 20 1986 in Decker Church parlor. Guests included Myrna Schweitzer Florence Musgrove Donna Lints Marjorie Brooks Wendy Higgins Norma Knight and others. Gifts were presented by Leeann Haggarty Evie Strachan and others. A comical skit by Banff summer skiers and a lunch concluded the event. Linda thanked guests and invited them to visit in the couple's new home in Birtle.

Heart Fund campaign surpasses 1986 goal
WINNIPEG The Manitoba Heart Foundation surpassed its 1986 Heart Fund goal by raising 1 457 949 dollars, up over 8 percent from last year. Campaign Chairman Audrey Vandewater credited over 15 000 volunteers in more than 250 communities including Winnipeg for the success. The foundation plans a 1987 goal of 1 546 000 dollars.

Kinsmen Cancel Strawberry Picking This Year
Hamiota announces no strawberry picking this season due to Tan Rot disease at Grand Valley Strawberries. About 75 percent of the crop was ruined forcing a cancellation of the large 400 basket order. Closest viable farm is a two hour drive each way, leaving members unable to meet weekend schedules.
