The July twelfth event in Hamiota promises a full sports day with a fitted track for horse races and a grandstand on the baseball field. Four baseball teams including Oak River and Kenton are expected, with several horse races and a large turnout from surrounding towns and orange lodges.
Last Friday Arrowton Sunday School held its annual picnic at J White's farm with ideal weather and a large crowd. Scota Crandell and Arrowton teams played baseball. Crandell won the first game by three runs and Arrowton defeated Crandell in the tea time final due to strong fielding. Also note Orrwold failed to meet Chumah and railway work progresses with rails laid at two miles daily.
Notice issued that the by law on scavenging will take effect August 1 in the village of Hamiota. All closets must be ready for night soil removal with access from lanes or arranged for. A public scavenging wagon will operate from that date under By-Law No. signed by W Chamberlain.
The record lists expenses for coal oilfete and music from Whaley Royce Co and Zell Piano Co, with a balance due on instruments. Donations to E A Alson and credits to the band are noted along with a balance on hand of 4975 and total receipts of 206 40. The committee thanks C L Thring and A Alson and the people of Hamiota for support.

Harding Agricult Society hosts its fourth annual fair with a strong showing of stock, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Prize winners include English and Sons, the Chadbournes, and the Jasper family with notable judges and a high-spirited crowd enjoying the day. A detailed prize list will appear next issue as attendants applaud the efforts of President Thos. Jasper and the directors. The Rapid City celebration also drew crowds with six horse races, Oak River winning the baseball prize, and Rapid City triumphing 7-3 in lacrosse over Neepawa with Neepawa relying on four imports.
