Excitement builds in Hamiota for the Centennial Fair with Allan Burns and helpers readying grounds and camping facilities. The program includes a parade at 9:00 a.m., pancake breakfast, a fashion show, pet show, clown, petting zoo, games, volleyball, a Yellowhead League baseball game, booths, and a dance.

Mixed Golf Night At Hamiota Draws 50 Players
Fifty golfers took part in a June 24 mixed golf event at Hamiota. Flight winners included Brian and Margie Taylor with Al Gordon, Gary and Carol Kidd in first flight and Larry and Judy Oakden with Bev and Patty Paterson in second flight. Closest to the pin went to Kay Brooks. Betty Thomson and Brian Taylor claimed best female and male longest drives. Visiting players Abbey Pratt, John MacKenzie from Vernon and Wawa joined Mick and Lloyd Little for the dinner after.

Hamiota 4-H youths set for Connection Canada exchange
Ten Hamiota Agriculture District 4-H members host ten Ontario 4-H twins in July for a two week visit ending July 21. They tour local sites including Riding Mountain Park and the Forks before Ontario guests travel to Ottawa Toronto and Niagara Falls from July 26 to August 4. Community fundraisers and local organizations supported the effort.
