District Happenings Bring Lunches, Comings, and Poetry News
A large crowd enjoyed lunch and a bake table at the district gathering while many former residents attended. Joni Fleury, a Birtle Collegiate graduate, was congratulated as Gloria Fleury’s poem Going South was selected for publication in Sparkles in the Sand and for reading in The Sound of Poetry cassette. A Duff Stone wedding brought together relatives and friends from across Canada and beyond for a lobster dinner and musical evening. Local renovations and mural notices in Boissevain and Miniota, plus home purchases in Minsota, were highlighted alongside visits from international guests and local well wishes for David Rowan in Hamiota hospital.
