Winnipeg Health Minister Bud Sherman announced the appointment of Dr. Harold Keith Sigmundson of Winnipeg as director of community psychiatric services for children, effective December 29. He has served part time since 1971 and with the Child Guidance Clinic since that time, becoming clinical director in 1974.

Manitoba Unemployment Steady At 4.6 Percent In December 1979
Statistics Canada reports Manitoba’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 4.6 percent between November and December 1979. Minister Ken MacMaster notes a 1.3 point drop from 5.9 percent in December 1978, with 10,000 more employed to 452,000 and 7,000 fewer unemployed at 22,000. Manufacturing gains and an 12,000 rise in the workforce support a improving labor market.
