The Hamiota District Health Centre will add 15 senior housing units funded by federal and Manitoba governments. Total cost about 835 thousand dollars with a 75 25 operating cost sharing. federal 72 thousand and provincial 24 thousand expected first year. Construction on Lilac Avenue to start this month, finishing by fall.

Five Newdale Lions attended a Sandy Lake Supper Meeting on January 14 to retrieve their stolen Gong. At a January 19 business meeting plans were finalized for a January 23 Pancake Breakfast with profits to the Lions Telethon. A $100 donation was given to the Lions Eye Bank and Westman Telephone Directories were distributed within the Village on January 20.
