Miniota Centennial General Committee Meeting Notes 1983
Miniota Municipal Centennial General Committee met January 13 1983 at 7 30 p m in the council chambers with Jack Hanlin presiding. Minutes from October 26 1982 were read and adopted with changes including new dates for the senior citizens banquet and beard growing contest. Reports cover beard contest registration January 17 1983 1 to 4 p m at the Municipal Office, parade planning, floats from area groups, power and water for trailers, and souvenir sales. The committee set entry deadlines, banquet ticket pre sales by May 1 1983, and announced a plaque inscription 1883 1983 Dedicated to Reeves and Councillors. Proposals include spoon gifts for babies born to residents, decorations by project committee, and Centennial use rules for events with proceeds clearly allocated. Meeting adjourned.

Ivan Lena Lawrence and Lena's brother Lawrence Nankivell and family visited Minto with Mrs Eileen Nankivell and Dinnis of Hamiota. An annual meeting January 14 elected Wallace Henderson as Chairman and Vera Long as Secretary Treasurer. A Municipal Centennial is planned with a Centennial Ball this spring.
