In Hamiota the District 3 women’s curling event ran three days with 15 rinks. Bernice Elliott edged Noreen Andrews to claim the A side and secure a Lassie Provincial Playdowns berth in Neepawa February 3. Noreen Andrews won the B side. several teams were eliminated as draws continued.

60th Anniversary Held for Wess and Annie Rivers
About 136 relatives and friends gathered December 29 1975 at Chumah Hall to honor Wess and Annie Rivers on their 60th wedding anniversary. Guests included family, neighbors, and messages from public figures, with a tea and lunch hosted by Unit 4 of the UCW. The couple married December 29 1915 near Pope and lived in several communities before retiring to Hamiota in 1958. They have five children, 14 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

New Horizons Organizes Hamiota A Meeting
New Horizons convened a reorganizational meeting at the Community Room on Saturday January 10 at 2 pm with strong attendance. The secretary presented a directors’ report and a three way funding split was approved for shuffleboard Sr. Citizens and bowling. Ten directors were appointed with power to elect an executive. a further directors’ meeting is set for Tuesday January 13 in the community hall.
